Covid 19

Hey blog reader I hope that your healthy and are practicing social distancing. I haven’t wrote a blog in a while but this one is about How covid 19 has affected my interactions with the outside world, school and my blog. I recently found it very difficult to rent movies from my usual movie rental spot. But to help cut down on the spread and to help keep others safe I will be watching movies from Netflix,Hulu,Amazon prime and what ever movies I haven’t watched on my shelves. I hope to be back to normal soon. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Movie review five

For my fifth movie, I got and I have been thinking about for a while now and it’s still confusing. Room 1408 with Samal l Jackson and John Cusack.

The movie starts off with Mike the main character being an author and he writes books mostly about scary locations and haunted places. He comes across a hotel that won’t let him stay in one of there hotel rooms(1408) but after a few run-ins with the hotel manager and him not giving up he finally gets to stay in the room where many people have taken there own lives and have been “murdered” in.

No one lasts more than 1 hour in the room and once he enters the room he can’t leave. As things go from normal to strange then bad to worst he’s locked in with no escape unable to speak to the outside world. He believes that at one point he escapes but he never gets to leave.

At the end of the move he makes the sacrifice so no one else can get hurt again from that room. I would rate this movie 7 out of 10 just because it felt really long and it was a bit predictable. Not really scare good movie for first-timers.

Forth (Split)

For my fourth movie, I rented Split 2016 mystery thriller film. Hand down one of the best movies I have come to see. Actor James McAvoy plays a character that has over 23 split personalities that share and live in his body.

The movie, for the most part, is about Kevin, the main character with DID that has abducted 3 high school girls and often sees the therapist that helps him maintain a life. Throughout the movie, you get to see his different personalities and are all different ages genders and are all completely different and with each person, he changes clothes and his voice changes too. But the screen time is shared with an almost main character Casey that is a survivor of many horrible events that end up saving her life at the end of the movie.

There were many incredible scenes and very many quotes and have stuck with me even weeks after the movie. Spoiler alert only one girl survives at the end of the movie and Kevin gets away and is out free-roaming the streets a mad man.

Overall rating 9 outta 10 great plot and effects. The movie had me on edge the whole time. And it’s one of the only movies I have seen that wasn’t too long or too short and they also made a second one that I am hoping to review at a later time.

Third movie(Tokyo)

This week for my third movie review I rented Tokyo Gore Police. Overall the movie wasn’t terrible. It had a good theme and somewhat of a good plot but every other clip there was blood spraying the screen and I was not prepared for that; but I did like most of it.

An overview of the movie; the more the main characters are a police officer but she hunts people that are mutated that go on Rampages killing people and then she brings the bodies back to the scientist who studies them. They’re trying to learn more about these people (creatures) so to speak but man the blood a little more than I’m used to for movies.

Special effects weren’t bad. The overall rating would be a 5 out of 10 because there were parts of the movie where I just had to look away. There’s lots of self-mutilation that was kind of hard to watch. I would not recommend this movie to anyone who is easily squeamish or has a hard time with close-up core scenes and people being cut up. I do personally know people that love this movie but it’s not one of my favorites.

Second movie review(shook)

This week when I went to pick up my movie to watch I told the guy behind the counter give me your worst movie. Man should I have worded that way differently. When he gave me the movie it looked more or less like a low budget snuff film. So me being the person I am I didn’t read the back and walked out. It said unrated but for most horror films it says that on the front so no red flags.

Later I’m watching the movie and am completely caught off guard when I basic outline of an adult film is playing with random scenes of gore and horror. I watched almost the whole thing except for the last 15 minutes because I couldn’t watch any more adult scenes without someone in neighboring houses thinking I’m a pervert(LOL).

Hanger a 2009 slasher film that with online rating got 3.7 wasn’t actually as hated as I thought it would be. Many people actually enjoy a film that I will briefly describe it as a sex worker that is forced to have a burial unthinkable event happen to her. And her unborn son lives through the unspeaking event. If you really wanna know more you just gotta watch this one for yourself.

I would never watch this movie again 4/10 for special effects but 2/10 do to the content and overall plot of the film. There was in fact some pretty funny humor scene that i did enjoy but I will definitely specify what movie I am looking for next time.

First movie Review

I have been going to Gorehound with friends for a little over a year now. So when I had to write this blog this place was my first thought. They have the best movie selection I have ever seen and very affordable. Each week I go in and pick a horror film; or I let the staff on duty pick their favorites. I watch the film at home then I rate it from my own personal opinion.

A quick overview of Gorehounds Playground; it is a small building on Drake that has rentable movie rooms in back to host your own movie event there. They also have thousands of movies ranging from Foreign horror to superhero movies. If you’re looking for the horror they have everything.

For my first movie, I picked to watch the collection of the SAW movies. Usually, I would only watch the first but it was an easy thing to do over a weekend. The first movie came out in 2004 and they have made 8 movies in total.

Each movie has the same basic concept, you have to pay to get out. But more or less with body parts or the loss of loved ones as well. Each film is basically a rematch of the one before but with more twisted traps and blood.

I would recommend this movie to anyone that is into gore and isn’t easily squeamish. I would rate this movie 6/10 due to the fact that their good movies but you already know what is going to happen if you have seen the previous movies.
